COVID-19 has brought along many things with it that are now being tagged as the new-normal. Wearing a mask, sanitizing, and social distancing; these are the changes that we have to adapt socially, but what about the impact of Corona Virus on the professional world?
Due to lockdown, as immediate response to the need of the hour, offices had to either go offline or choose to go online with remote jobs. Initially, both the employers as well as employees have had this opinion about remote working that it will cause more problems than the solutions such as communication gap, laziness etc. However, when the daily activities resumed gradually after almost 6 months in many countries, there was a surge observed for preference of remote jobs in hiring as well as job-seeking side.
According to the statistics, remote jobs are offered 2.8 times more now since March of this year; while Sales & Marketing jobs being on top in the category. Many organizations have announced to go permanently remote and several have shown interest to move with the same approach in the future. A lot of the organizations have even announced to be remotely working at the end of the year and later decide what their way of working will be in 2021.
Similarly, searching for remote jobs has also been increased by 60% since March making remote job applications 2.3 times more than they were before COVID-19. Well, it will be not be wrong to assume that this trend of remote working is not going anytime soon at least.
