5 New Year Resolutions to make Better Career:

The Year 2022 probably didn’t go the way we expected, some were forced out of the workplace, many people lost their jobs and some worked twice as hard as expected to maintain their position in the workforce. While we cannot predict what 2023 will bring, one thing is certain:2023 will be the year of endless career opportunities, perfect if you can focus on career resolution.  Here are some ideas for getting back to the career you want in 2023.

1- Set Clear Goals

Define your mission for the year ahead and then plan and take each step in accordance with the goals you established. This will help you achieve more in your career and get you where you desire to be. This could include taking on more responsibility, achieving professional certification,  becoming a member of professional networks, or setting up a side hustle.

Reflect on the LinkedIn profile and your CV and look at your expectation. This way, potential employers and recruiters will get a better understanding of what you want to achieve.

2  Learn a New Skill.

Begin the new year by adding a new skill in your career that refreshes your mind and makes you more productive in your daily workload. Adding a new skill to your work will help you break through the fog of everyday monotony. It will also keep you more relevant and open up more opportunities for you. Choose a skill to help you learn about your field and excel. Some companies even provide financial aid to employees to improve their performance, so ask your HR about it and advance in your career.

3 Maintain a Good Work-Life Balance:

Finding a work-life balance can be challenging, but it’s essential to keeping a good balance between your personal and professional lives. Examine your schedule and make any necessary adjustments. Consider working later in the evening so you can have more time for yourself during the day, or getting up early to start your day. Try something you love doing, such as reading, cooking, going for a walk, or just relaxing when you have some alone time.

Ask your family and friends for assistance if you are still having trouble striking a balance between work and life; they may be able to give you some advice or assist you with other tasks so you can find a balance between work and life.

4- Network:

Networking is essential for career advancement. A strong network should include everyone from colleagues in your industry to potential employers, mentors, and sponsors. Reach out to your current connections and make an effort to form new connections.

Don’t forget to give back as well; mentoring and volunteering are wonderful ways to meet people who can assist you in achieving your goals.

5 -Say Yes to New Opportunities:

The coming year will bring you countless fresh chances to succeed and advance your career. Don’t wait until you feel prepared to take advantage of an opportunity; otherwise, you possibly miss out. Be willing to take on new challenges, step outside of your comfort zone, and be open to new opportunities. Say yes even if you’re unsure you can do it; you can always learn how to do it later.
